The best house builders in Scotland have been announced following the annual Scottish Home Awards in Edinburgh sponsored By Ross & Liddell. They were presented on the 14th June 2018 to companies highlighting excellence in new home creation over the last year with focus on design, marketing and customer care across the industry.
Fotheringham Homes were Highly Commended in the Small Housing Development Award which was presented to them alongside the winning Queensberry Properties.
The Brae Road, Gourdon Development was collaboratively designed with John Crawford Architects and completed in 2017 with the majority being sold before construction was completed. The site comprises of thirty-five stunning two, three and four bedroom properties in six different styles, all of which were finished to an exceptional standard.
Commenting on their recognition Michael Fotheringham Director at Fotheringham Homes explained that “when we set up the company 12 years ago, we set out to challenge the industry and our customers to ‘believe in better’. From the design stages to construction and handover, we focus relentlessly on making the customer experience as enjoyable as possible. Being Highly Commended for our work on such a national platform is a real testament of the hard work and effort that the team put in on a daily basis”
Expanding on the project Michael explained that “It was important to us to keep the look of a small coastal village, but to still introduce a modern feel to the properties. To achieve this we used a mix of material on the exterior of the properties and kept the heights of all house types to either one storey or one and a half, with Velux roof lighting to reflect the more traditional look of the village.”
The industry recognition reinforces Fotheringhams commitment to delighting their clients with a high quality product and service.
Speaking to one of the new home owners Dr Wendy Davidson she commented that “The standard and quality of the finishing’s and the build itself is exceptional and I couldn’t be happier with my new home!”
The Scottish Home Awards which was hosted at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange by comedian Des Clarke and the BBC’s Catriona Shearer crowned Wemyss Properties as Small Property Developer of the Year for which Fotheringham Homes was also shortlisted as finalist.
