Fotheringham Homes has reaffirmed its commitment to the regional supply chain by announcing the appointment of local suppliers for the construction of its latest development in the south of Aberdeenshire.
Gourdon-based Fotheringham Homes announced its new development – The Beaches at Johnshaven – last year and groundwork is already underway by Westhill firm Nicol of Skene, ahead of the construction of the first of 71 desirable properties.
The new development adds to Fotheringham Homes portfolio, which includes ongoing and completed work at Marykirk, Stonehaven, and other sites throughout the Mearns.
Since its inception, the business has made a point of utilising local subcontractors on its projects to keep work within the local economy, and this latest development at Johnshaven adds to that commitment.
Other contractors appointed to contribute include Inverurie-based Laings Kitchens, Bathrooms, and Bedrooms, and The Inside Story Interior Design from Stonehaven – which styled the show home at the Fotheringham Homes development in Marykirk, winning the Scottish Show Home of the Year Award 2020.
Lisa Watts, Co-founder at The Inside Story, said: “Our approach to Interior Design is completely client focused, our goal is to create timeless, creative and liveable spaces. Our attention to detail and design style has built a reputation for creating beautiful, functional spaces for both commercial and private clients.
“The Aspen Show home, at The Beaches in Johnshaven is a beautiful open plan bungalow and we are fully involved in the design process from before construction, which allows us to be fully involved in all the design decisions from flooring and hardware, through to kitchen and bathroom design. This allows us to create a fully cohesive design for the show home which is aspirational while ensuring that the design works for the ideal buyer and is reflective of how families actually live.”
Tracey Clark, Senior Designer at Laings Kitchens and Bathrooms, added: “For more than 10 years we have collaborated with Fotheringham Homes, as well as their customers, to create dream homes – whether it be a bespoke build or one of the many homes within their award-winning developments, taking a clients vision from plan to reality.
“Designing and supplying high quality kitchens and bathrooms, selecting from our vast product portfolio, enables our designers to create beautiful practical spaces for all clients, which we look forward to continuing to do so on future developments like Johnshaven.”
More than half of the plots currently available at The Beaches are already reserved, with only groundwork completed on site and the show home still to open later in the summer.
Fotheringham Homes Office Manager, Gillian Gibson, said: “We are extremely proud to be a local business crafting homes for local families which are designed to create a sense of serenity, security, and comfort. To help us do this, we are happy to support the local supply chain by utilising businesses supplying us with fantastic, locally made products of the highest quality and craftmanship.
“We’ve heard from previous customers about how much they loved the ability to customise their new home to suit their taste and needs, and it is only by using local, trusted suppliers that we are able to offer this to customers.
“I am delighted by the work already carried out at our site in Johnshaven, and personally, I am excited for our new Aspen show home to open for prospective customers to experience these products for themselves.”
There are currently only 6 plots left available for reservation from the 27 released in Phase One at The Beaches at Johnshaven, with further homes scheduled to be released later in the year.
